Throughout my Hawaiian holiday, I gained further knowledge and admiration for Elvis.
It is evident he was adored for his genuine heartfelt and charitable deeds.

Elvis loved and valued the hospitality of the Hawaiian people
as much as they loved and respected him.
He visited the Islands on many occasions until his final vacation in 1977.
Not only did he make three movies in Hawaii
he also performed live concerts.
All funds from his benefit concert at the Honolulu Bloch Arena in March 1961
went to the Memorial for the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor.
This was a vast amount needed to complete the sacred monument.
Elvis was 26 years then, the average age of those who were entombed
in the sinking of the USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor
on the morning of December 7th in 1941.
